I'm back, and horrified to learn that the remake of the Stepford Wives will be a friggin' COMEDY!

GOD DAMN IT!!!

THEY'RE MISSING THE WHOLE POINT!!!! The Stepford Wives is supposed to be SCARY!

Now I have to see the original before they screw it up...feh. Better yet, I'll read the book...

Anyone else seen or read it?

I used to have the movie on VHS and I read the book about 20 years ago. The book is more chilling than the movie, but the movie is still okay.

Hopefully that is just the production team screwing with us.  What is next?  "Grave of the Fireflies" as a comedy?

This also reminded me of the recent post about "I Married a Monster from Outer Space."  The movies have a similar feel to them.  Woman, powerless and isolated in a society dominated by men.  Plus, something substituted for people...
