RIP

"12 Angry Men" is one of my favorite films.  This reminds me, I really need to buy a copy of "Network."

I am very, very sad to read about Mr Lumet's passing. He and my parents paved the way for my film career when I was seven and my folks dragged me into a screening of Murder On the Orient Express which I was blown away by. They had to drag me kicking and screaming out of the cinema because I didn't want to go home.

It was then that I said: this is the way I want to go and this is what I want to do with the rest of my life.

I have done so: RIP Mr Lumet and thank you.   :bluesad: :bluesad:

I only learned of this today, on the cover of the NY Times.  I did not realize 12 ANGRY MEN was his first film!  A stunning achievement... then, LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, FAIL-SAFE, THE PAWNBROKER, SERPICO, DOG DAY AFTERNOON...on and on... and NETWORK ...a favorite!!  An awesome body of work!
Good night SIDNEY, your ilk comes along rarely.
