One of the great mysteries in life - they were obviously on an actual roof, so why in the world did they choose to do that unbelievably bad green screen?!?!? I can't even imagine how bad what they were covering up must have been...
Check out my movie reviews and articles at: www.cinedump.com

Or, don\\\'t check them out - see if I care. You\\\'re not my real mom anyway. Unless, you are. In which case, whatever, I\\\'ll do what I want. It\\\'s my hot body. Y\\\'all don\\\'t know me.

I have no idea, but it made things a lot funnier as a result. :bouncegiggle:
Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite

I actually watched the DVD special features (Shameful I know) There's a brief BTS piece, and an Interview with Tommy. Those scenes where shot in an LA parking lot, and the green screen was done so it would look like San Francisco. Though in my personal opinion, Sky looks like sky I don't think anyone would have really noticed. After watching a second time on Adult swim I noticed all the actors kind of crouch down and close the door all the way when they leave the roof. Because there is nowhere to go.

The interview is pretty funny because Wiseau dubbed a lot of his answers in post. It's on youtube, the good dubbin' starts @ 5:00 minute mark.

I find it kinda funny you went from watching "The Room", and then watching "Citizen kane". I'm kinda like that sometimes :bouncegiggle:

Ha ha ha. Actaully I didn't intend on watching Citizen Kane. I just happened to be returning 6 DVDs to the library when I saw it on the shelf. Citizen Kane has been on my list of films to see for a long time and frankly I got lucky finding it.

More related to the topic, specificailly the roof scenes. I think they are by far the funniest things in the entire movie, which is saying a lot. :teddyr:

It's movies like this that define a generation, That open the floodgates of what is possible in cinema.

I applaud Tommy Wiseau for saying NO to Hollywoods high standards of movie making and crafting his own wonderful sculpture of brilliance known as "The Room".

For you see The Room isn't just a room, nay it is a metaphor for the walls we put around us, The football representing the shift of blame we pass onto others,Lisa Is the inner female in us but more to the point represents societies fear of a self empowered woman,Johnny is the Everyman and yet his own man symbolizing undoubtedly the duality of all of us, Denny of course is the inner child in us all who confronts Chris R a scathing representation of both the drug companies and adolescence that looms over Denny's precious head, and Mark...well it's obvious isn't it?.....isn't it?....

The movie takes on an emotional roller coaster with tons of thrilling questions, Will Johnny get married? What will happen if their tuxedos get messed up? will Denny be OK? WILL THE DOGGIE LIVE?!!

I gave this film 8 stars out of 5, May the original film reel be bronzed and displayed in the Smithsonian museum for ages to come.

Earlier today Tommy Wiseau (Likely fake) accepted my friend request on facebook!

It's self-released by Tommy Wiseau.

It advertises a first on Blu-ray--Combination Languages (CL), which allow you to watch subtitles in multiple languages at the same time.

It was released today and it's already sold out at Amazon (!)
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

What a story Rev. Powell.

I'm quite surprised that it's already sold out. I'm not sure about getting it on bluray because I already own a regular copy of it and there doesn't appear to be any special features that aren't on the version I already have.

Hideous yet strangely mesmerizing, just like the movie itself.
Through the darkness of future past
The magician longs to see
One chance opts between two worlds
Fire walk with me
