THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.

Still the most overwhelming big screen movie experience of my adult life.
I've never wept so hard at a movie.
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

I usually watch Night of the Lepus and Bloody Birthday on Easter.

Ben Hur has long been one of my favourites.  And I always enjoy watching The Ten Commandments:thumbup:
"May I offer you a Peek Frean?" - Walter Bishop
"Thank you for appreciating my descent into deviant behavior, Mr. Reese." - Harold Finch

Life Of Brian is a good easter movie.

I caught THE TEN COMMANDMENTS for the first time yesterday. Big corny and hammy describes it pretty well, but I dug it. The costumes were awesome and Chuck Heston was great as usual. There's a lot of good looking babes in it too. The only thing that was distracting was the restoration. It was so well defined that it threw off any illusion to depth of field. Something that was way in the background was just as sharp as something up close.

EASTER PARADE (1948)

Tonight TCM is showing JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and GODSPELL.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

BARABBAS (1961) the most un-Eastery of the "Easter" movies will be on TCM at 11am EST today!!  If you are at all an ANTHONY QUINN fan, this film is excellent, but very dark, somewhat disturbing, and not "happy".   If you are not an ANTHONY QUINN fan, this film may turn you around.  It's quite powerful.  Dark.  Disturbing.

THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST and THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST would make for an interesting Easter double feature.

I watched Johnny Cash's THE GOSPEL ROAD (1973) the other day, which is probably the best 'bad' Easter movie.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I enjoy Bill and Ted's Bogus journey. The scene when they're in hell getting chased by the Easter Bunny clearly qualifies this as an Easter Movie. Right?

BARABBAS (1961) just came on... I can't look at it (it's scary)... I'm going out shortly.  But I am listening to it... I forgot to mention what a great score!!  Ominous amd compelling.  Important.
