i saw this piece of utter garba-hhhhhhge last night.
without chemical enhancement i never would have made it through the entire flick.
anyone seen this Pyun thing?

my question is...the girl...the guide girl who sneaks around for half the flick...
why does she talk like some kind of stereotypical native, even though she is clearly of the..err...caucasian persuasion?  she doesn't even have an accent!

and why did all the guys have girl names and vice versa?

and why did i EVER think Vince Klyn was cute?

and what was up with the stupid-tacked-on-ending where he had to go out and find the real bad guys and then they left us hanging?

i was not impressed.

and Olivier Gruner may have a nice body, but he NEEDS to try and act like he needs a job at Wal-Mart, cause he surely shouldn't be getting paid for what HE calls acting!

I can answer this one: To set it up for the sequel!

Looks like God was looking somewhere else, because there are "Nemesis 2" and "Nemesis 3", both, I think, directed by the same Albert Pyun. And believe me when I say that the first "Nemesis" is one of his best movies.

BTW, what kind of "chemical enhancement " did you use to watch the film? My personal favourite is red wine.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Nathan has a good review of Nemesis at Cold Fusion Video

My main criticism of Nathan's review is that as bad as he paints Nemesis, its not nearly as bad as it's *three* sequals :)

LOL, I'll admit that I haven't seen Nemesis yet, but I think it's hilarious when someone discovers Pyun's movies for the first time/or has seen too many of them and gets upset about it.  I remember sitting through Omega Doom, my first Pyun experience, and having a mental breakdown afterwards.  I can almost envision the look of utter disbelief, disappointment, or anger on people's faces after they've sat through such classics as Captain America, Cyborg, and Adrenalin:  Fear the Rush, amongst several others.  Pyun should donate his brain to science so they can study his exact motivations behind making such bad films.  Maybe the joke's on us, though.  Maybe Pyun's sitting in his mansion with hookers on each arm, laughing about the fact that he can make such "classic" movies at a rapid rate and get paid for it.  Pyun rules, plain and simple.

Oh yeah, and I actually liked Hong Kong '97, Mean Guns, AND Cyborg.  God help me.

THE SWORD AND THE SORCEROR is my favorite Pyun with CYBORG a close second.

I saw NEMESIS a couple of years ago and other than having a completely incoherent plot and a total Terminator rip-off ending, it wasn't too bad.

He does seem to have a talent for shooting action scenes.

My first Pyun experience was "The Sword And The Sorcerer" when I was very young, so to me it was pretty cool.

My first 'modern' Pyun experince was "Omega Doom" and I must admit I didn't find it that bad.

i liked Cyborg and, well, i saw The Sword and the Sorcerer and i totally dug that cool sword and the evil red guy.

but Nemesis, augh.  what a rotten film.

I have noticed that Pyun's films can cause mental breakdowns in quite a few people. I was thinking of subjecting my friends to both Nemesis and Adrenalin: Feel the Rush back to back and see who destroyed the VCR in conniption fit first.

My first memorable encounter with the sadistic farce machine was Nemesis 4 and by golly, I do not need to see the rest to figure out what the purpsoe of that film was. The flick was actually exceedingly boring and worthless, but the lead walked around forever naked... and Adrew Divoff was their but it all felt fuzzy to me after a while.

Hey, I LOVE Nemesis!  In a platonic sorta way.  I think the issue of Albert Pyun has cropped up earlier on these boards, has it not?  The consensus is that he can handle the action scenes pretty well, but as for his common-sense gland and plot-DNA-strands ....
