So, my 3-year-old has been in a car phase for about a year now. He still is, but he seems to be transitioning into an interest in robots and aircraft. So, I figure it might be getting time to introduce him to the original Star Wars trilogy. I sadly bought the 2004 edition of the trilogy that has all the add-in CGI crap to tie it in to Episodes I-III, including that bulls**t bit where they insert Hayden Christiansen as Anakin's spirit at the end of Episode VI (I really hate that). So that box has been collecting dust. Anyway, I want him to see the original versions, but George Lucas has resisted making those available for many years.

So I searched and saw that there was a limited edition releases of each of the original movies and it contains both the original unenhance version AND the 2004 crap version. However, I'm only finding it on DVD, no Blu Ray. I would love to get the original unenhanced versions on Blu Ray, but if that's not going to happen any time soon I may as well pick up the limited edition DVD's. Anybody know if they will ever release those limited editions I'm talking about in Blu Ray?

I might as well take a stab.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

From everything I've read the Blu-rays will NOT contain the original cuts which is annoying (of course I'll still get it...).  You'll need to get the DVD releases for that.  I still have my VHS set, but widescreen would be nice.

I hope the updated scene of Luke making his lightsaber be on this as well?
