Old Sci-fi film

I vaguely remember pieces of this weird alien movie from when I was a kid. This family of aliens come to Earth one of them is dying in a persons house. And there is this weird light coming out, I think they were being chased by some sort of bounty hunter. I was young might have imagined it but if anyone can help me that would be great.

It was to violent for E.T. the aliens were human-sized.

The Pod People

But not a dying alien in a house.
It has weird light and poachers going after the aliens.

This is almost certainly "Stranded" (1987).

Holy crap it was Stranded now I just need to find the movie. Is it on dvd or only vhs.

I didn't find any reference to a DVD version. I saw it on VHS in the 1980s myself.

While you are looking for a copy of Stranded, you can always watch "The Pod People".
The night wind can always carry one more scream.
