Great to hear this is finally getting made, but it sucks that it's going to be a mini series.  Damn you King!

I hold this book special, due to the fact that it was the first King book I ever read (I was hooked ever since).  Can't wait for this to finally be made....if only it would have been a feature film.

Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Any sensible movie watcher should know that, with the only exception of "salem's Lot", all King-inspired miniseries suck big time. "Desperation" could have made a pretty cool movie, but I have no intention of watching a three-hour, edited-for-content, and directed-by-a-hack adaptation.

King should have more respect for his followers and only sell the rights of his novels for big screen features.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Yes, Neville, I agree.  This miniseries is going to suck...HARD.  But, it will be good to FINALLY see desperation made into something.  Been years coming and now here it is.

I understand the Mick Garris while be directing it, and the project was in development at New Line as a feature film for several years.  No big surprise that the financing kept falling through.  Eventually the project was downgraded to a mini-series.  Thus is the way of Hollywood.

I'm not sure about that .  the Stand was a pretty good miniseries as was It.  I also liked the shining.  Now the langoliers is a different story......

The Langoliers just didn't work well on a visual medium since the story wasn't that action oriented.  It might have worked on radio.....

I didn't really care for Desperation.

I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed Desperation. Out of all the King books I have read, I disliked only two so far.

Hell the Stand was good, and it seems to me everyone enjoyed It, so after that awful Storm of the Century, debacle, this may turn out good.

This is potentially good news.  We can only hope they do that great book justice.
