Though my comic reading days are long gone and over, I recently came across this bizarre concoction: Superman Vs. Muhammad Ali  :buggedout:
Published in 1978 it tells the story of aliens trying to destroy earth unless they can find a person willing to fight one of their aliens in a boxing match. Ali volunteers, but so does Superman. In order to pick one challenger they must first fight each other on another planet. Superman is stripped of all his super-powers thanks to a red sun, and Ali teaches the man of steel the sweet science of boxing for their big event.

Kind of corny and certainly a product of its time when Ali was a big deal. Still, I thought it was entertaining and gave me a nice flashback from when I was reading comics as a kid.

Do you know of any other weird "Vs." comics?

Jim H

I've read a few of these...

Lobo VS The Mask

It was actually pretty entertaining, and makes some sense as they're both unkillable.

I also read Mars Attacks the Image Universe - worth a read as well.

WingedSerpent

At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Doggett

If God exists, why did he make me an atheist? Thats His first mistake.

The 1st one wasn't a VS. but was still pretty strange

Mr. DS

I actually have this one in my shed in a box.

Never cared for this matchup at all.

Don Rickles vs. Goody Don Rickles.
Just the fact it's DON RICKLES is weird in itself.
And all done by Jack Kirby!

Not exactly a "versus" comic, but this is certainly the oddest pairing I've seen in awhile... yes, this actually exists!! The first issue will be out in November!!  :teddyr:
