Prokofiev - Classical Symphony, Lieutenant Kije Suite, Love For Three Oranges Suite

I've got that same recording!  It's been a while since I've listened to any Prokofiev, I need to get around to it.

If you're like me, you bought it after hearing "Kije" used in LOVE AND DEATH.

Free music Saturday:

Dance Mix for Electric Zoo: http://www.spin.com/articles/free-album-spins-dance-mix-electric-zoo?utm_source=SPIN+Media&utm_campaign=650f94bea6-8_30_2011_newsletter&utm_medium=email

Why did I download this?  It's like putting a disco in my speakers.  I'm off to try something different, be back soon.

Okay, this is much better.  Free samples from folk/roots/rock label True North Records: http://www.linusentertainment.com/share/

There's a Bruce Cockburn song about Richard Nixon being reincarnated as a little girl.  My soul feels cleansed from that dance music.

Finally got round to listening to these guys for the first time last night. I've never heard music like it. It's extreme, it's melodic and it's out there. If I had to compare it to anything, I'd say Ministry meets Machine Head but SYL are about ten billion times better than both. The song "Detox" is mind-blowing.

I bought City a few weeks back but I feel like I haven't been in the proper mood to listen to it.  I'm a fan of Devin Townsend's solo stuff which usually isn't quite as heavy but more melodic and is often downright goofy, but it's good.

As in, it's the best of that style of music (extreme/industrial) I've come across. If you happen to listen to any of this band's later work, you'll find progressive and jazz elements mixed in amongst all the brutality too.
