Psycho Circus

I've just received a DVD in the mail, but the case has some weird brown plastic block stuck in the side of it. It's a security tag as far as I can tell, but I cannot get it out! I've tried using my nails, a knife, a fork and even snapping the case. Has anyone else had this problem before and what do I do?

Menard

Do you have a picture of it?

I found out recently that some of these tags can be removed with a magnet.

if you upload a picture of it I'm sure we will have a better idea of waht you're dealing with

One thing that would fix the problem for sure would be to go to a local store and get some empty DVD cases.

They're usually pretty cheap, under $5 for a box of 10.  I go to Walmart, K-mart, etc until I find the ones I'm looking for.  The only problem is that most stores seem to only stock the slimline cases, so sometimes you have to shop around a bit to find the standard ones.  They're real handy for when you get cases with super-sticky security seals or ones where the hub has got a death grip on the DVD.

I have overcome the fiendish device! I had to cut the case in half! It was utterly ridiculous, as the thing ran right across the middle of the case, behind disc and was hooked round other bits of raised plastic. I had to twist it all out into seperate bits. Never seen a security device like before at all.

DVD security: We need to make it so secure even the people who bought it can't get into it.

Man, I thought the plastic labels on all opening was crap.

Circus you need to take a picture. That's completely ridiculous.

I threw it in the trash, plus my camera broke.
