Movie from pre-80s about small monsters that hate bright light?

I believe I saw this movie when I was 6 or 7, which would make it early 80s at best, but possibly much older (maybe even black and white?).  There was a woman and she was seeing these little monsters (like 2 feet tall probably).  At one point another person gave her some sleeping pills or something to calm her down.  Towards the end the monsters were dragging her down a hallway and she had a camera with a bright flash (seems like it was the old kind where you had to change the flash bulb between pics?) and she would flash them with the camera and they hated it.

That's pretty much all I can remember, but I had nightmares from it for years...
