I called my dad, an ardent old school Apple fanatic, tonight to offer my condolences on Steve Jobs' passing, thinking he'd heard about it, and awkwardly I inadvertently ended up being the one to break the news to him. It's a tribute to Apple's influence when I say my dad was more broken up about Steve Jobs' passing than he was his own father's eleven years ago.

I say I'm not an Apple fan...but theres an iPod nano in my pocket, and we're all uing a GUI that he thought of. So I'll say he was a world changer. I hope he got the extended warranty for the afterlife.

I personally do not like Apple computers but I do own an iPod and don't mind it. I'm a huge Windows guy; but god damn it I respect Steve Jobs for what he does. My condolences to his family.
