     CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC
     CONVOY
SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
     YELLOW SUBMARINE
     BABY, THE RAIN MUST FALL

GIMME FIVE songs with lyrics based on the Bible.
If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

Flick James

"Creeping Death" - Metallica, references the Plague of Death of the Firstborn in Exodus
"Sunday Bloody Sunday" - U2, references or paraphrases numerous biblical quotes
"Turn, Turn, Turn" - The Byrds, is almost entirely based on scripture from Ecclesiates
"Samson" - Regina Spektor, refers to Samson and Delilah
"The Man Comes Around" - Johnny Cash, makes numerous biblical references, particularly from Revelation

Next: GIMME FIVE songs that were not hits until at least a year after their release

Suck ass topic   :tongueout:
AEROSMITH "Walk This Way"
THE ZOMBIES "Time Of The Season"
THE BEATLES "Got To Get You Into My Life" (Went to #7 in 1976, 10 years after first released on Revolver)
SHERIFF "When I'm With You"(went to #1 in Canada, not a top 40 USA hit, went to #61)
CHUBBY CHECKER "The Twist" (a cheat, but it is the only record I know of to hit #1 - twice - more than a year apart!)
THE TOKENS "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (a cheat: first, went to #1 in 1961, then, THE TOKENS re-recorded the song and had a minor hit nearly a decade later).

Feel free to jump in somebody, including with any corrections of above.

Don't mind my bluntness.  Suck ass because it was not too easy to come up with 4... and as indicated, I cheated on the last two.
And I should clarify that SHERIFF had a big hit in the USA with that same song... about 6 years after the one and only album release.
