What was this Alien movie? please help.

I'm trying to find the name of this movie from the late 70's or early 80's.
The VHS cover was kinda beige with a picture of aliens laying down in glass tubes.
It was called 'Shockwaves' or 'Soundwaves'  or something similar.
I've tried google to no avail.
I havent seen it since I was a kid and would like to track it down.
