Well Stuart Gordon-Brian Yuzna-Charlie Band/Empire Pictures enthusiasts, it seems as though MGM is planning to released FROM BEYOND (1986) on DVD according to www.mondo-digital.com.

While their is no information on any extras, yet it seems obvious that the film will be presented in it's 1.85:1 Original Aspect Ratio. I do hope that MGM will go through all the trouble to get an audio commentary/video interviews with Brian Yuzna, Stuart Gordon, Jeffrey Combs, Ken Foree, Barbara Crampton, Ted Sorel, and Charlie Band. Also, I hope that MGM is going to restore the original cut of FROM BEYOND to it's original ultra-gory glory that only Stuart Gordon could capture. God, I am really excited about this.

Also to mention, RAT PHINK A BOO BOO (1965), A LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN (1971), KILLING BIRDS (1987), and DEAD & BURIED (1983) are going to be out by next week so expect reviews from me soon.

I'll probably pick up this DVD when it's released.

I never really liked the movie, but I've only seen original VHS copies of it.  Dark, grainy, muffled sound....it sucked.

That usually seems to be the case with films.  I'll watch them on an old VHS, hate it, and absolutely love it when I finally see it on DVD.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I know how you feel, Skaboi. I thought FROM BEYOND wasn't bad, but the old VHS Vestron Video release looked pretty bad (I'm sure due to it's massive playbacks over the years by many a curious filmgoer). The transfer wasn't very stellar either, but this was early video after all (however, the transfer could have been taken from one of the 35mm theatrical prints rather than a 35mm negative source).

Not only that, but FROM BEYOND was released in theatres in Ultra-Stereo. The old video was in crappy mono, so hopefully MGM is going to release it in it's original Ultra-Stereo format.

Probably my favorite Lovecraft adaptation. I will definately pick this up.

I'll probably pick it up either way, but I would much prefer an uncut version.

The Burgomaster

I have RAT PFINK AND BOO BOO on order . . . a long-awaited addition to my collection!

I'm also looking forward to the upcoming releases of THE BROOD, THE OMEGA MAN, SOYLENT GREEN, SQUIRM, SNUFF, and a few others.

What a great summer!

As is said about Summer blockbusters is the season for theatical releases, the same can be said about cult films on DVD. I mean, look at the lineup: RAT PHINK A BOO BOO (1965), LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN (1971),
KILLING BIRDS (1987), GHOULIES/GHOULIES 2, TROLL/TROLL 2, FEAR NO EVIL (1983), SQUIRM (1977), and DEAD & BURIED (1983)! Talk about a great summer.

And for Ray Dennis Steckler fans, Shriek Show is also working on LEMON GROVE KIDS MEET THE MONSTERS (1964) so I am also looking forward to that one as those who have seen it said good things about it (even saying that Steckler's impersination of Hunz Hall is perfect). Just hope RAT PHINK A BOO BOO has a commentary track of Steckler as I was told by the head of Shriek Show when I e-mailed asking about the release.
