Psycho Circus

http://www.chamberofages.blogspot.com/

As some people may know, I basically abandoned Flash Metal Circus some time ago and didn't really have the heart (or patience) to update it and tidy up all the links. I know people really dug it, so sorry.

I've gone all death metal now (still into all my cheesy hard rock/glam tho') and found that the words came easier. I've gone a tad more serious and technical with my reviews this time grabbed a lot of info from various places and dug out old reviews I did for various sites a very long time ago. The site takes it name from a song by the band Massacre and is still in somewhat of an embryonic state...

They also did one after in '93 called "The Erosion Of Sanity" which is actually better.

If I had the time, I might've listened to this "Death Metal" but it bores me.  I like my Rock to not only kick you in the face, but sing in your heart.     Well, I like my oldies anyway (bein' an old fart).

That said, man, Chris, you can write.  Keep at it.  You Rock.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

Thanks AHD.

I would say, if you can get past the vocals, that you should try and check out Athiest ("Elements") or Pestilence ("Spheres") sometime. Those are basically jazz-death records, where the musicianship and time signatures are out of this world. It's like any genre really, the more you listen the more you hear. With some extreme music, it just takes time to get past the initial bludgeoning.

Bludgeoning has its place; afterall my favorite Rock records must be THE STOOGES.  I appreciate your enthusiasm, and by just posting this update and shift in your focus, you inform me to jog left a bit more.     I'll be listening.  I know about extreme music, which I think you know.  Like I wrote, it's just a matter of time.  I'm still exploring mid-century Jazz, post-war Pop, and poorly-received releases... from the last century, my thing.
