RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY (1962) - This is a very good western with Randolph Scott in an unusual role for him, but he turns out kinda on the good side at the end. Good film directed by Sam Pekinpah. Thanks Burgomaster for your positive thoughts on this very Western in previous post. Always looking for a good film.

The Burgomaster

It's interesting to watch this fairly "tame" western, and then compare it to Peckinpah's violent later films like THE WILD BUNCH, PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID, BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA, THE GETAWAY, STRAW DOGS, CROSS OF IRON, and THE KILLER ELITE.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Scott

I'll have to keep a lookout for THE GETAWAY and THE KILLER ELITE. Haven't seen them yet. Yes, this is a different type of Pekinpah film.
