Okay... Thank god this is the lat time I deal with this, but not thank god my jaw is still in pain! I never hated going to the dentist till now. Even as a kid I did not really mind it. >_<

I really hate the dentist exsperience after the story I got the last one removed. I knew It was gonna happen, and I planned to go back when the pain kicked in. It kicked it at the worst time, Sleeping on my friends, friends appartment floor mildly hung over, I woke up to a wisdom tooth playing up, and a bunch off other people I don't know sleeping around me. I that morning learned just how many people can fit into one small space at a time...

After a 8 hour shift, I come into the dentist to have them check out my wisdom tooth. 5 minuites latter "Okay lets get the pian killers for the surgery" I automatically yell out "NOOOO!!!!!!!!" and he and the dental nurses laugh and say "What without the pain killers?" >_< he did it, and my jaw still hurts I even took 4 panadol at 5 am this morning to kill the pain!

any other horror stories about dentists or wisdom teeth.... Cause I am glad this is the last time.
Then I did not just look into the mirror, I looked through the mirror...

About 2005 my two back wisdom teeth were killing me...the were loose and in pain....I got drunk and yanked them out with pliers.

I had two out when I was in Navy boot camp back in 1982.  The dentist, I am reasonably sure, was actually Dr. Mengele in disguise.  He tugged and yanked a minute, then said, "Well, it's too impacted to come out in one piece.  Just a minute."  He disappears and comes back with a HAMMER AND CHISEL!  "You might feel a throb or two," he says, then shatters the tooth and pulls out all the fragments with a pair of tweezers.

NEVER trust a dentist who giggles while he words.

I got some incompetent nincompoop out in California when we lived out there.  Broke 'em up into chunks and then took forever to get the chunks out.  Novocaine wore off about an hour before he was done digging around in there.  Then a week later I got to go back so he could do the other two.

I seem to have horrible luck with teeth.

I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed when I was about 12 years old.  I could use some of that percocet now . . .

So, does  that mean you have no wisdom.... teeth? :teddyr:

tracy

I only had one wisdom tooth grow in...and within 5 years it crumbled and fell out. Mostly...I still have a couple of small pieces that need to be dug out. Now I'm afraid to go. :buggedout: :teddyr:
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

That was my experience.  They had to split two of mine in half to remove them.

The military does have a tendency to remove our wisdom teeth.  In my case it was past time, because one had begun to damage the neighboring molar.  I remember a kid many years ago who got his out and one side became infected; it looked like he had a tennis ball in his cheek.

Mr. DS

I had mine out conscious, one at a time.  I recall one or two they had to split.  One on my upper side wouldn't come out until my dentist used every last ounce of his strength to rip the bastard out.  I remember its making a giant "keeeerrrrraaaaaaack" sound.  Recovery time physically wasn't bad, mentally...well I'm getting there still.

I got all four wisdom teeth out at once.

I didn't mind it. They gave me a bunch of pills so that kept me happy.

Granted, I liked them so much I abused them.

I was out cold so I didn't feel a thing.  But then I got an infection and my neck swelled up so that I looked like Boss Nass.
