I say we all pool our money together and buy it!  We b-movie fans can rule our own little plot of land and as first order of business, we should rename it!  What would we call it?

Let's go for it!

I'm willing to kick in ten or twenty bucks, but only on the condition that we have an official elected village idiot and town drunkard.

I'll kick in twenty bucks I suppose.  I'd even go as high as $25 if I can be the mayor.

I'm in for $20....and a rename is needed. Although,if we named it Hooterville, folks might get the wrong idea. :teddyr:
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

I think it should be named Dunwich. And I'm in the running to be elected town drunkard ...or village idiot. Or both simutan...simotan...at the same time.

Do you think whoever bought it would sell it to us, if we offered him or her $900,001? Of course, we'll need 1000 of us to put up $900 each, and one person to put up a $1.00. I'll put up the $1.00.

This actually isn't super rare...  Ghost towns used to get sold quite cheaply, as they'd be on worthless land in out of the way places.  Don't think this is so much the case anymore.

Remember reading a short story about it once, where a guy tried to fleece a young man by selling him a worthless ghost town.  Turns out the "naive" young man bought it and ground up all the buildings for the tens of thousands of dollars worth of gold dust in the mortar.  Good stuff.
