I agree with Flick.
I've been having problems with all the politicking and social issues discussions. So I have had to back off lest I get upset with some folks, I don't want to be upset at or disagree with.  
I'm a moderately liberal, not very religious, non-political person.  So some of the discussions and threads have made me uncomfortable, so I have backed off  for a while too. 
Its not a PEOPLE thing, I like most of y'all and respect a lot fo people here whose views I don't share.  ITs that I don't share, and have been offended by some of the ideas voiced.  I'd rather back off than burn any friendships.

As for the Political Stuff, I avoid those particular threads as much as possible. Taught it's not polite to discuss politics and religion with people.

If need be, I avoid the Off-Topic section, and go in the movies, tv, and entertainment areas. Much less political differences pop up whilst discussing Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.

I hate the political threads here and don't even click on one if I even think it may have something to do with politics.  Andrew is a lot nicer than I am when it comes to political threads.  I immediately delete ANYTHING that has to do with politics on my Eastern Iowa Airsoft website and Facebook group page.  Matter of fact, it's not really a problem anymore because I've made it clear that politics and Airsoft do not mix and that anyone who even hints at bringing up anything political faces suspension and/or banning.
I won't hesitate to drop the banhammer on people who insist on talking and arguing over stupid, stupid, stupid politics.

Thanks, although I must clarify that I don't have any problem whatsoever with intelligent debate by people that have at least a partial desire to learn. While opinionated, I realize that at various times in my life I have acknowledged that I was mistaken about something I believed in, or at least had something more to learn about it. While I also believe that with age comes some amount of wisdom, I also believe that older is not necessarily wiser. Sometimes older is crazier.

With that said, my problem was mainly with what I perceived to be a trend toward agendizing and axe-grinding, and I don't mind that much either except when it starts to overtake the forum. I am both saddened that Andrew wants to make a rule, and glad that as the site administrator he recognized it as well and I wasn't just going crazy.

Personally, I don't mind talking about politics here, and by that, I mean we should have more discussions about Werewolf of Washington.  Anybody else here seen that movie?  It's not that great, but I love the title.

I don't understand the problem with politics, religion or sex, it's a fact of life and  rife through bad movies. In any event, adults  have views based on many things and not agreeing on everything is  very adult. However, I am more interested  in old movies and obscure  art and that's  why I came here, not to convince  anyone of my views  on politics, religion or sex.
