yes, my first spill my guts out post here is a big one

long story short - my dad to lives in Florida and has since 2008 started seeing someone over a year ago

he told my mom, who lives up here in Wisconsin with me,  and said he'd try and fix things

my mom was willing to move forward at that point......and a few weeks ago my dad changed his mind

I'll post more about this when I'm ready

I'm sorry to hear that. My parents split when I was 7. As far as I know there was no hanky panky, my Mom just couldn't take the drinking and verbal abuse anymore. My Dad matured quite a bit after the divorce.

If I were in your shoes I would have a very, very hard time with it because unfaithfulness is just so unacceptable to me. It would be extremely difficult for me not to be judgmental. I hope you are able to deal with it better than I would be able to.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Sorry to hear about that Bob.  At least you're an adult.  Dealing with divorce/separation when you're a kid can be earth-shattering.  Chin up my friend.

I know this is going to be a rough time for you....and like Flick James I cannot abide unfaithfulness. Please know that you're in my prayers,Bob.

Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

Sorry to hear that, Bob: you're in my thoughts pal and all of us are here for you.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

for what it's worth when my mom told me my dad was seeing someone else I had a flash back to several things I remember my dad saying over the course of my life in a montage and the pieces fit, like some movies do at the end when there's a big twist

all things considered I think I'm handling this pretty well

my mom...is doing ok all things considered

she had a lot of trouble getting to sleep the first week or so after my dad told her he wanted a divorce and the last couple of days she's been going to sleep a lot earlier then normal

so it's my dad's birthday next week and before this whole thing came to light I went out and bought a good number of movies to send him like every year...

just now I got them in the container to ship to him...this really doesn't feel right at all and I'm not sure what to do

Send them all or as you planned each year. Don't change your plans.

Nerves are raw, questions are fresh, and doubts are normal. One thing you don't want to do is give yourself regrets; whatever you would have done without the current situation, do it, and you won't leave yourself wishing you had done it later if you don't.

well, it's officailly in the works

my dad got served with papers a few hours ago...and he wasn't too happy and gave my mom an earful for about half an hour on the phone after receiving them

*sigh*

some legal aspects of this started not too long ago

for some dumb reason a  judge ruled that the house my mom and I live in must be put on the market

and tonight I found out before I was born my dad was seeing someone else.....  :bluesad:
