Video game horror movie

I remember seeing part of a horror movie.  It reminded me of "little monsters"(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097758/). There was a kid who bought a video game or something that was suppose to scary him.  This involves a walking talking monster, that reminds me of "little monsters".  The monster ends up tricking him and framing for murders.  This is because as the monster told him greatest terror of all isn't being a victim but causing crimes.  Anyone know what movie this is?
