Welcome.

I've seen parts of "Last Man On Planet Earth" on TV a few times.  I think it made the rotation of "a show sci-fi channel will play a dozen times in a week" one week.

Seemed a fairly low-budget, decent-but-not-terribly-great, made-for-TV, type of movie.  For some reason I felt that it was like "interesting premise but don't think too much about the implications of how it's presented because it probably doesn't make a lot of sense."

Now that I think about it, for some reason I'm reminded of a UK movie where a guy wakes up one day and everyone's disappeared.  He kinda goes nuts for a bit and then he finds a woman and the two of them travel around a bit before finding another guy.  There's a lot of conflict, jeleousy and suspicion between the three before the first guy says that the 'event' might've been caused by research he was involved in and that he needs to get back to the research location and undo something before the whole world is destroyed.

Wish I could recall the title.  I just say it a few months ago and I kinda enjoyed it, except for a rather vague ending.

Ash

That would be "The Quiet Earth".
I have been trying to find that movie anyplace other than e-bay for ages without success.

It's actually a New Zealand production.

Yup!  Now I remember it.

They have it for rental at my local small video store :)  I think the owner of the store really wants to ditch his old videos and move to all VHS but I keep renting stuff like that.  Maybe I should see if he'll start selling  them to me.  This one and "World Gone Wild" and some others I wouldn't mind having

Interesting.  Something about the settings I just sorta assumed UK.

I must admit that as a white American I find watching a black actor with a ..British?  New Zeeland?  accent rather amusingf
