Need a Title Please......

a long time ago, (oh gee, way back in the late 70's early 80's) I saw a possible made for TV movie about a monster on an island. I know, I know. Vague. So, here goes what I can remember - A couple rent a boat to get to some Island that may or may not have been in  the middle of a Lake. Anyhoo. some things happen and then this monster that's made of MUD, yes mud. and sticks I believe and some other earthy substances starts chasing and killing people. The end result was that "Water" killed the monster. They tricked him  into running off a cliff and when he hit the water he exploded into flames. The reason I say "may or may not have been a lake" is because I also have a vague memory that "saltwater" was the means to kill him. Don't know. BUT if any of you guys could help, I'd sure appreciate it.....

Hm.  The saltwater part makes me think Day of the Triffids.  There's a scene on a lighthouse that's kinda like what you described.

I doubt it. Someone else was trying to get a copy from the director, but that fell through. Apparently it's locked away in the network's vault and will probably never see the light of day again. :(
