The Capalert website now has a review of F.vs.J
It's like watching an unstopable force strike an immovable object...  Marvelous...

Is anyone else wondering what would happen if these folks saw (as MST3K put it) an ultra-violent japanese porn cartoon?  (These same folks who gave 'Spirited Away' a bad review...)

I'm still dissappointed they didn't review "House of 1000 Corpses." ;)

wow i like this site, it just shows how funny religion can make people!

i can't believe they gave american psycho a zero! i mean, i know that this film is completely crazy, but its for adults who should know the difference [and kids who think its cool! ;-) ]

one negative comment on spirited away:
"potentially lethal risk-taking by a child to rescue someone"--- wouldn't you want  a kid risking their lives to save you if the situation required it? that would be damn heroic, and more of a sin to let someone die if you could help.

i could go on for hours about the craziness of fundamentalists!  those silly buggers!

would it be a sin if i tried to write a few reviews on the la blue girl series, explaining how rape by devil-tentacles was productive in the development of children?
i think i would be doing a service for mankind, and 8 year olds everywhere

sorry but i just had to include this negative comment on the movie 'Unbreakable'

"comment that many people really do have super powers which are simply undiscovered or inadequately harnessed: exaggeration of the truth "

how can super powers be an exaggeration of the truth??

i mean, come on, they're talking like no-one has super powers! ;-)

*sigh* silly silly sad people.  and they say they are objective.

That's not too bad...I remember  a magazine my high school library would get [I went to a fundamentalist high school] that gave movies a rating of "Evil" if it was horror, involved the occult, or had dancing in it.

Complaining about superpowers?

Aren't these people worshipping a guy who walked on water?

Thats the thing  Jesus had powers so if someone else has powers thats a false idol. I have a neighbor who wont let her kids (4 yrs through 10yrs old i believe) watch Cinderella because of magic nor pokemon becuase pikachew shoots lightning out his ass.

Although the arguments are the old standards "sex and nudity and violence, oh no!", I was actually kind of impressed by the fact that whoever wrote that article seemed to, for a psycho Bible-thumping lunatic, know their s**t about the genre.  A Michael Myers reference was dropped without even mentioning his last name, which acknowledges that these things are such a big part of the film world that even the religion-crazed hippies who read that site should know what's being talked about with no explanation.
And as for that punk taking advantage of the passed-out girl...if there's one thing horror movies love to do, it's dole out justice.  That guy got it but good, and so does every other mysogynistic creep in a horror flick.  I'd like to think horror films are our way of getting justice where otherwise there would be none.  If we don't have it in our power to actually go out and find and kill a rapist, then by God there's gonna be one splattered all over the screen so everyone knows just how we feel about that s**t.

There are only two important things in life - monsters and hot chicks.

The thing that bothered me about that site is that everything is looked at without any context at all. For example, sex is sex and a scene of a husband and wife having sex is considered just as bad as two teenagers going at it. Negative comments about God from a demonic bad guy are just as big an offense to him as if a nun had said them. From the few reviews I looked at, it seemed like he was more concerned with noting everything he didn't like than actually paying attention to the movie, since he didn't seem to get several plot points...

Brother Ragnarok

Yes, Jesus = magical hippy with superhero powers.  No one ever said religion wasn't retarded.  Wait...no, they probably did, but they were wrong.

I know!! They are addicted to what they think; their own opinions and stuff. It's just as bad as being addicted to heroin or crack. I've said it before and I'll say it again - If you don't like something, just turn it off! I've done it before and I'll do it again. It saves me the grief of watching something I don't like, as well as preserves freedom from censorship (which I think is one of the worst things).
