Well, did'ya ever try running while wearing platform shoes AND elephant bells? A recipe for disaster, man.

Somehow I never had platform shoes, but I did (briefly) have a pair of Earth Shoes, or more likely, cheap Bargain Town knock offs.

For the young and innocent, Earth Shoes were some kind of hippy-inspired footware that were higher in the front than in the heel.

We learned quickly they messed with your center of balance when first wearing them - so you could give your Earth Shoe-wearing friend a quick push on the chest and they'd fall back onto their tush.

Good times!

Always loved this picture, especially DeForest Kelley.

I remember that photo!

I see Shatner was a no-show, the lousy jerk!

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

Yuck!  I'd improve these retina-searing wardrobes by throwing up on them.

There's some genuinely good looks in the 70s, floating amidst a sea of the worst outfits ever created.  It's fascinating.

I'll have to find the pictures of my stepfather from then, he wore a lot of leisure suits with the exposed chest hair and platform shoes.  Oh, and he's like 6' and weighed 135 pounds at the time.  Yep.

He looks like a third-string villian from DETECTIVE COMICS....
