Help naming this movie.

Anyone know about a "Swamp Thing" like monster that goes around killing everyone. Its a old black & white film but the filmmakers were on tv saying how they knew the movie is going to suck but they made a special ending where the monster acctually wins. It kills everyone and simply smiles at the camera in the last shot and I saw the ending of the film once on my public access channel. Anyone know anything about it, I know the discription sounds vague, but can anyone help? I really want to know more about the film.

i have been trying to figger this one out for a couple days.  I remember reading a review on a film released in the early 60s chock full of stock footage in the swamps with some resurrected indianor whatnot, with a link to an earlier flick by the same director which sounds much like the picture in question.  If I can get my head out of my butt and find it again I will let you in on it.
