NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST (1958) - Just saw this one today after buying a Triple Feature Monster Classics from Alpha Video on DVD. This film was produced by Roger Corman (He didn't direct it though) with a typical early Corman monster. The film is great stuff as an astronaut dies after crashing to the earth and he becomes impregnated by an alien creature. The music at the beginning is classic Sci-Fi material. You have to love this one. Check out Andrews Review:

I watched this one last night after a long, tiring day at work. Good thing, too, since I was too tired to run away. What a ridiculous mess! A dead guy has the blood pressure of a living man then comes back to life....seemingly pregnant with what looks like sea monkeys. The alien monster wants to "improve" the human race by killing it off.....logical,I suppose. There's a woman there with pretty big hair who has no obvious function. The scientist gets his head half eaten by the life-saving monster. All in all....3 outta 5.
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

I think my first exposure to this movie was a scene used in the Whose Line is it Anyway game film dub with Colin providing the voice of the monster.  It was also an MST3K episode where I saw the whole thing for the first time.

The design of the monster reminds me of a mole mixed with  some sort of bird.

Fun movie.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Love it. I always thought the monster looked liked he was made out of a pile of old grease rags.
And he got dum shumck pregant with cartoon sea monkeys!

Apparently the same monster costume was also used in Corman's "Teenage Cave Man" in the same year.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

Woah!  You had me scared for a second there.
Don't remember ever seeing this movie unMST-ed.  Even with the riffing that second half dra-aaa-aaggs.  That monster is adorably cheap though.
