i'm thinking of stuff like GHOULIES or THE GATE...

i rewatched GHOULIES the other day to do a mini-review and i think it holds up ok, and i mean just ok, as a period piece PG-13 mid-80s flick. it's campy enough and there's just enough ghoulies around to keep it interesting. the guy's green glowing eyes were cool too.

i could've sworn TRICK OR TREAT was PG-13 when it came out but my dvd says R as does the IMDB. i'm i thinking of another devil music-themed flick???

No, TRICK OR TREAT (Sammi Coon was the rocker's name, wasn't it? I want that song he played at the Halloween Dance SOOOOO bad, as I love cheesy 80's hair metal...except Poison) is definitely R-rated. Language and brief nudity, I believe. I know there's a scene where this jock kid (one that picks on our hero) leaves his girlfriend alone in the car, and she puts in the unreleased demo from the rocker that died, and then begins masturbating while listening to it.

And as the world began crumbling down
Nobody around seemed to care
