Just saw a commercial, appartently SciFi is now claiming that Beyond Re-Animator is a SciFi original!

That can't be!

I was always under the assumption that Beyond Re-Animator was a Spanish production.

Well, more or less. The studio is called "Fantastic Factory", and its heads are Brian Yuzna, Stuart Gordon and Julio Fernandez, head of Filmax. They are based on Barcelona and they employ mixed crews, part american, part spanish. The funny thing is that the Sci-fi channel *may* have co-produced the film as well. I don't remember their name on the credits, but who knows, maybe they were co-producing. One of the latest films from the studio, "Darkness" was co-produced by Dimension.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

saw an ad for Discovery Channel's "new" series Mythbusters.  It seems to be about disproving urban myths.  Not so bad, but the promo clip was of two guys disproving that someone could get their derrier caught in an airplane toilet.  I saw that show before, on some channel.

What's next, Comedy Central's new series "Saturday Night Live"?

Dog Soldiers too!

My wife is dying to get this on DVD after seeing it in the theater. (Her first foray into Herbert West's territory).  Was wondering if anyone knew a release date on this flick?

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Check it out on the news section of this very same page.

Or, you could always go to www.fangoria.com.  Their Video Chopping List is updated a couple times a month usually and has upcoming release dates for every horror/cult flick hitting the shelves.

That's just marketing bulls**t they ALWAYS use to advertise a film they've acquired for television airing, when they claim "A SciFi Pictures Original".

SciFi is "premiering" BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR tonight....I'll watch it just to get an idea of what it's like, but it's well-known by those who have seen the unrated version that there's gore and outrageous effects aplenty, especially in the last half hour or so of the film (which will naturally NOT get shown uncut on SciFi).

My question in regards to the upcoming DVD, scheduled for release on Dec. 30 by Lion's Gate Entertainment, is WHICH version will it be? Amazon has the film listed with an R rating, yet the Lion's Gate site only says "Not Available" where the rating would be on the coming soon page they have.

Anyone have ANY idea which version we'll get on DVD in December....R or Unrated? The pic link here is from the Lion's Gate site, and is presumably the DVD cover (which wasn't shown on Amazon).

It wouldn't surprise me if MOST of the gore was left uncut, as SciFi does show several gory films with much of the gore intact, and since it is airing later than normal (9-11PM) the standards & practices of the timeslot allow more to happen (hence why South Park can get away with so much more than any other comedy on basic cable, due to its late timeslot).

And if Lion's Gate is distributing it, expect the unrated version. They distributed the unrated American Psycho, and I believe the unrated House Of 1000 Corpses. Lion's Gate usually does everything it can to please the fans of its movies, I believe.

Nah, House of 1000 Corpses was R-rated, but only because Rob Zombie doesn't have a definitive uncut version yet.  It's interesting to hear how much he shot after the film was dumped by Universal.
