I remember the ending of a black and white movie , a fiend is climbing up the side of a cliff. There a few people on top. As his head shows over the ridge someone shots him in the face and he changes back to his human form and drops out of sight. Name of the movie?

well..gee...about 40 different bad versions of nosferatu..or maybe one of the"bat" movies...or any number of werewolf movies...and a number of giallo movies that aren't horror....
can you give us ANY more info at all? when did you see it? was it new or old black and white? did you recognize anybody?

Undying Monster was the first one I thought of when I read this.

Although some details are explained slightly different than they happen here, OP reminded me a lot of the 1958 film 'Monster On The Campus' There is a fight on a grassy hillside/ small mountain and the monster man (looks a bit like the wolf man) gets shot, when he falls and rolls down the hill to a stop the camera then shows his monstrous appearance transforming back to that of his human form. Not sure if it's the movie at question, but is worth the try.
