Because a state with an anti-tax culture, no major cities, nor infrastructure, nor industry, nor real rescources not claimed by a national park is BOUND to work.

Well,it would help Oregon no end to lose those two counties.  They recently voted not to fund law enforcement.

As are or have talked about it . . .

the eastern counties of Colorado
Vermont
Texas
Idaho

but the last states that actually seceded did so almost 150 years ago, and we all know how well that worked out.
