Movies that MST3K missed out on

A lot of The Cinema Snob's videos missed out on the MST3K treatment. There was one movie so bad it was considered for being hosted on the show but was denied for the dark subject matter (child marriage).

Are you talking about the 1980 Troma movie, Russell? I thought that one was awesome and dosen't need to be riffed upon.
You and Zelmo are correct.  It did not have much blood in it, so sometimes when you are a kid things seem different the way you remember them.
Sorry, but I thought it was bad.  I riffed a bit on it when I saw it.

Most Troma movies are pretty much bad and campy on purpose.

It's like the Scarface phenomenon and the chainsaw bathtub scene. Most people thought that was one of the goriest scenes in movie cinema when it actually left a lot to the imagination and you didn't see much, just a little blood spatter.
First rule is, 'The laws of Germany'
Second rule is, 'Be nice to mommy'
Third rule is, 'Don't talk to commies'
Fourth rule is, 'Eat kosher salamis'

I wish they used Munchies. That movie is already pretty fun and the crew's commentary would have made it perhaps even more enjoyable.

IT'S ALIVE (the Larry Buchanan flick, not the killer-baby one.)
I EAT YOUR SKIN
THE BLOODY BROOD
- which isn't a terrible movie, but I think the riffing potential is still pretty high, plenty of Peter Falk references to work with for starters.
VAMPIRE NIGHT ORGY which is nowhere near as fun as it sounds.  It makes MANOS look brisk and coherent.

One chance opts between two worlds

As far as "Gremlins" rip-offs go, it can't be worse than Hobgoblins.

I'm surprised they didn't do more Larry Buchanan flicks, they were particularity known for abysmal looking monsters. "It's Alive" has a particularly ridiculous monster costume that looks like a Gill-Man reject, and is also supposed to represent a dinosaur of some sort.

I recall "I Eat Your Skin" being some repackaged Del Tenney (responsible for "Horror of Party Beach") flick that in the early 70s had been paired with a completely unrelated splatter flick called "I Drink Your Blood" as part of a double feature. Guess that was the exploitation market for you.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised by it too.  The guy provided some serious cheese.
I don't recall that they ever tackled Al Adamson either, and that's a shame - although I suppose that would've required some heavy editing.

They probably could have gotten a couple in there with a few cuts, or maybe they ignored riffing them out of respect since he was apparently murdered in 1995. Or they probably never found anything. I'm quite sad MST3K isn't around these days, considering all the obscure Z-grade flicks that have been discovered since the show ended. You could probably fill up plenty of MST3K seasons with Something Weird Video's library.

That film would certainly be great MST3K filler. At least it's not as bad as Ben & Arthur.

For some reason I was thinking about this thread today when I had a bit of a realization.  To the best of my knowledge, MST3K never riffed an animated film.  They did plenty of children's movies, and films/shorts that might have had an animated element (like the opening credits of Moon Zero Two or the stop motion aliens of Laser Blast)  but never a fully animated movie.  There's got to be at least one that could use a good riffing.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...
