I guess laying fallow for a year and a half is long enough...

If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

I want to say it's either Clark Gable or Charlie Chapman.

CHARLIE CHAPMAN?  Really?   :bouncegiggle:   :bluesad: Kindasad.

It's not ADOLPHE MENJOU or WALT DISNEY.   This actor was in a lot of movies, but he is not a well remembered movie star.  Who was he?  He turns up often in good films and he's always reliable, playing lots of types (though villains gangsters were kinda his thing)... he appeared in a movie with JACKIE COOPER.     :drink:

Margot Kidder..?

Seriously - the face is familiar and I wanted to say RICHARD CORTEZ, but it ain't him.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

You are so close... but his name was JOE.  The film both COOPER and JOE starred in was from the '30s, and the movie's title exemplifies the types JOE played and who young JACKIE's character aspired to be.

It's Joseph Calleia!

He wa from Malta, and they even issued a couple of Joeseph Calleia commemorative stamps a few years ago.

I remember him best from one of his later roles as Orson Welles' loyal partner who wears a wire in A TOUCH OF EVIL.

Looks like HUNTZ HALL (I know it's not).  How about a hint?

He is best remembered for acting like a real swine.

I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

He's better known for his voice than for his face, but I bet someone will recognize him quickly.
