She is truly a remarkable woman: a strong feminist who raised a very troubled son and is still interested in my work, my welfare and, like a Mom should be, whether I have clean clothes and enough to eat.

I should just add that although I was (and remain) a deeply troubled person, my parents' love pulled me through it and many times since.
