There is an element of Christianity that is myopic and trendy. Backwards masking being an example. I really doubt anyone believes in that anymore but it was considered perfectly reasonable at a time, so much so that Judas priest got sued over it.

I didn't watch the debate, but I heard multiple commentators say Ham won---not because his arguments were better, but because he convinced Nye to talk to him as if he were an intellectual equal whose positions were worthy of serious consideration.

I remember in 1988 I was asked by a minister what music I listened to and liked, so I told him that my favorite band was The Moody Blues. His reaction was a double  :buggedout: :buggedout: and he told me I was going to hell for listening to a group whose members practiced Eastern religions. WTF?

Where I come from that is just being polite.  But we generally do not consider 'debating' to be a blood sport.

There is no mention in Scripture of anyone being condemned to hell because of the music they listen to.

Just sayin'.

That being said, if you don't like Journey, you may be consigned to clean the pearly toilets for 500 years!

I got quite angry with the holier-than-thou idiots in the 1980s who kept telling me that if I did _________ or read _______ or listened to ___________________ I was going to go to hell and they were only trying to save my soul by helping me. I was told I was a Satanist because I wore a lot of black clothes (still do) and I read Fangoria magazine.

My reply to this was how come I go to church and don't freak out like Damien Thorn?

The odd thing was that I was told that Steve Perry of Journey needed prayers as he was going to hell.

All I can say is Oy.

When it comes to music, I judge how it affects my attitude. If it gets my mind going when I don't want it to go (Hate, anger, ect) I let it go.

Other than that, I have a wide range of likes.

If the lyrics champion  a behavior or belief system that offends me, I don't listen.
If the singer sprouts 100 F-bombs per CD, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, and certainly wouldn't let my kids listen to it while they were still minors living under my roof.
That being said, artists are free to record or depict whatever they want.  It's a free country.
If I don't like it, I don't listen to it  or buy it.
That's my freedom.

You guys wouldn't believe the company I work for. We're independent contractors working for Amazon. We use our own vehicles, pay for our own gas and load and check out all the stuff ourselves. We make like 1.25 a package or something. it's insane. What we're doing is nuts

It occurs to me I never watched a complete episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno.

Oh well...
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.
