You've been playing favorite records of mine that are also part of my fabric.  We're just the right age to remember these records.

Of course, I just keep replaying this.  I was so not into this by 1989, but then again I was exactly the right age for this record and remember it well but never wanted it.  Like "everybody" else, I had turned on BEASTIE BOYS and was by then mining the 30s-60s records that I was too young for and missed a lot of records I would have enjoyed.  I was one of those few thousands that bought that first pressing of "Cookie Puss" and kick myself for not hanging onto it.  It was always one of my favorite 12 inch records.  I probably played that 3 or 4 times a day for a year... 30...31...33 (?) years ago... I was still buying vinyl but transitioning to CDs (now I only buy used remastered).  This is the 20th anniversary remaster with nice packaging but I only buy for the upload and a hard copy so the pkg is a nice bonus.  Uhm, this record is a masterpiece of Hip hop.

"I, Swinger" by Combustible Edison. This is good. Suave and sybaritic, just like the cover says. One of the best arrangements of "Cry Me a River" I've heard, plus a cool jazz instrumental tribute to CARNIVAL OF SOULS.

For Free Music Saturday I downloaded some tracks off this page: http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/jazzdownloads.php. A new free jazz track every day, but you have to sign up for an account.
