"Democracy lasts until the unworthy learn that they can vote themselves the keys to the treasury."

(Although I think the quote would work better if the sentence stopped at the word "vote.")
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

I believe Plato wrote that.
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

ER

"We avoid risks so we can make it safely to death."

"I can make a General in five minutes but a good horse is hard to replace." - Abraham Lincoln
"May I offer you a Peek Frean?" - Walter Bishop

Beauty and the Beast. Why did we need this movie 34 times? Well, the moral of the story is that women can see the good in an ugly man's heart and fall in love. But the other side of that coin, ugly ladies, is that even an actual donkey monster can do better than you. That's a truly insane moral to get pounded into our brains by so many different movies. My theory is that a vast conspiracy of ugly men control everything, and the fact that I have no proof can only mean I'm far too handsome to be let in on it.

Heck, you could have a whole thread just for Dorothy Parker quotes.

From a book review: "This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force."
