I think Bill Burr is the best going today. He's a great ball buster.
Here's a clip where he rips into Nerd Jesus aka Steve Jobs.

Bill Burr - Night of Too Many Stars 2012

Bill Hicks , far and away the best standup comedian ever IMO. all his stuff is awesome, but his Sane Man DVD in particular is jawdroppingly funny

Steven Wright. his one liners are hilarious. best one liners ever

there's some others I quite like... Frank Skinner always makes me smile.  Ricky Gervais's stand up shows are pretty funny

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.

Not entirely sure I really enjoy Bill Hicks but don't usually actively go and watch it, I recently went and watched a full set I hadn't seen of Dylan Moran which might have even been funnier than the set I saw a few years ago. Always try and keep up with Bill Bailey I recently saw Qualmpeddler and it was good as usual. Other than that occasionally surf around Youtube looking for exceptional sets and stand up comics they are sort of hard to find imo.

used to think bill bailey was really funny on nevermind the buzzcocks, but for some reason when I watched some of his stand up stuff it just seemed a bit flat to me?

maybe it's a buzzcocks thing because Simon Amstell used to crack me up on that as well, and his stand up show was rubbish! (imo)

Top 10, random order:
Mitch Hedberg
Dave Chappelle
Eddie Izzard
Patton Oswalt
Bill Cosby
Maria Bamford
Louis CK
Richard Pryor
Brian Regan
Jerry Seinfeld

Louis ck is funny. not seen loads of his stuff though. almost reminds me of a chilled out version of bill hicks, if that's not an oxymoron

HappyGilmore

Henry Rollins.  Not really a stand up...but funny.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

Heyya Doc!  Long time no post. Glad to see you made it back.

currently i think my big two are Jeff Dunham and John Pinette.

Well hello there, Bushma.  WyreWizard talks a lot about you.  He think that you deserve a master's degree in physics because you are so knowledgeable.

Jeff Dunham, heard the name but never seen his performance.

John Pinette, the Bostonite.  I have seen a couple of his performances and I remember when he was a referee for the short-lived show, Grudge Match.  Both times I saw him were on MTV's half-hour comedy hour.  He was pretty good at raising the pitch of his voice without inhaling helium.  I also remember those few times on the Grudge Match how he was always flirting with Theresa Ring.  I remember when he finally got her to kiss him.  He looked like he was most elated!

I have often imagined John going to the lounge and consulting with ring announcer Michael Buffer or commentator Jesse Ventura for advice on winning a girl's affections.

But also in a way, Pintte reminds me of that one stand up gal who's voice was very high pitched.  Felicia Michaels was her name.  I remember seeing her on an episode of Full House.

That's nice of him, but there's no way I could do it.  I like learning but I have issues focusing on one thing for a length of time.  Physics would be WAY out of my league. Can you get an honorary master's in underwater basket weaving?

Hey WW.
Why cant you just admit who you are-say you don't wanna be a troll no more-and we can all be freinds?
This is a nice, friendly post. I like this version of you better.
BUT-your lying about your identity is troubling.
Anyway-you seem to be trying to be better-even if you are schizophrenic.
My favorite stand up comic-gee-I really like Steven Wright-I wouldn't call him my favorite-and-I also like George Carlin.
I always liked Henny Youngman.

He just comes up with some insane s**t like a machine gun-it's all with a sentence apiece-no long stories-just BAM BAM BAM!!!

Bizarre - Henny Youngman

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."
