Robot Ears

I am an avid fan of a bunch of terribly weird, quirky, dreamy, surreal, moldy, dusty, forgotten, obscure, unheard-of movies.

Particular 80s movies that have been buried and unknown are mainly a territory of comfort for me.

I always seem to be on the hunt for an old weird rarity.

So I already am constantly researching for films I haven't seen.

However, I figured I would make a thread where people can name weird movies with an opinion as to why it should be watched...

(Secretly I just want more help to find weird movies haha)

I am hoping people list movies that are a bit uncommon or obscure rather than like...The Goonies. LOL... If you know what I mean...

Here is some incredibly random/weird/ movies that I love

I'll start with:

RatBoy
The Peanut Butter Solution
Gandahar
koyaanisqatsi
La Cabina
The Hour Glass Sanatorium
Garbage Pail Kids
FrankenHooker
Parents

Stuff like that. I am sure most these titles are nothing new to you folks here

But nybody got any other slightly to moderately rare movies to recommend?

Thanks in advance if this thread picks up any attention. haha

Robot Ears

RatBoy- Because it's so weird you can't stop watching? lol idk

The Peanut Butter Solution- Made me feel like a kid again. Awkwardly.

Gandahar- Trippy and weird animation that I quite enjoyed.

Koyaanisqatsi- Incredible. Just watch...

La Cabina- Creepy and bizarre spanish horror short that I thought was bad ass.

The Hour Glass Sanatorium- Strangee

Garbage Pail Kids- The Garbage Pail Kids contribute nothing special or unique as characters. They simply exist. Which is hilarious. The plot which becomes this movie is random and unimportant. I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it.

FrankenHooker- Really cool movie in my opinion.

Parents- Being a vegetarian I thought this movie was pretty unique. haha

Society- Movie is the perfect kind of weird.

Help My SnowMan's Burning Down- Surreal....

I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay- Okay so not old or rare...but I thought it was Amazing.

It's not as obscure as these, but WILD AT HEART was one of the strangest things I have ever seen.
And if you want to see Japanese weirdness at its most bizarre, HELLDRIVER cannot be beat!

Derelict Coin-op

Im a cyborg was great.

Might recommend mamoru oshii's talking head. Or maybe allegro non troppo,an odd italian version of fantasia. Dont know I think its kinda known but el topo was pretty good too.

Just watched Bad Boy Bubby...I think it took some pretty bold liberties which made it a unique experience to watch for me. Be warned it has some shocking and disturbing scenes, though. Some genuinely funny moments too. Bizarre movie that packs a punch.

Wow you run that site? That's pretty cool. I've stumbled upon it while randomly looking up movies, but I gotta say the reviews are very well written and interesting.

A Night to Dismember (1983)

Doris Wishman's gory psycho-schlock-slasher began filming in 1979. Half of the movie's original negatives were destroyed by a fire set by a disgruntled employee. Wishman patched the remains into a bizarre feature by adding cheaply shot new footage, re-editing, and dubbing the entire movie including sound effects done by mouth (imitating barking dog, making squish sounds when someone is run over by car). Most likely one of the weirdest slashers made.

The Nostril Picker (1993) - probably the most surreal 'slasher' I've seen. A slasher movie on acid. And clearly filmed in the 80s, not the 90s (imo)

The Last Horror Film (1983) An obsessed fan stalks a famous actress at the Cannes Film Festival. Filmed during the actual Cannes film festival, without permission! I love this film, it's totally unhinged but great.

Valerie And Her Week Of Wonders (1970) Without doubt the most hallucinatory (if that's a word?) piece of cinema I've seen. Like watching a nightmare you had as a child....Recommended, then!
edit: I see Rev has this one in his 366 weird movies list too

Good call on Parents, so dark and creepy, yet funny... The kid's performance is haunting

And the girl from Frankenhooker is hot! Don't think she did many other films sadly

A few of my favorites:

The Forbidden Zone: Herve Villechaize is king of the sixth dimension. This is my happy place movie; I just sit and grin stupidly through the whole thing.

RoboGeisha: The Japanese are a weird, wonderful people. This also applies to The Calamari Wrestler, Karate RoboZabogar and Mutant Girl Squad.

Shakes the Clown: The movie that wrecked Bobcat Goldthwaite's career, though I personally find it very entertaining.

A couple of my non-favorites that still fit here:

The Dark Backward: I hope Andrew doesn't hurt me for bringing this one up. I liked it as a teen. As an adult, it's painful.

Eraserhead: A favorite for some here; it just tried too hard to be strange for my tastes.
"They tap dance not, neither do they fart." --Greensleeves, on the Fig Men of the Imagination, in "Twice Upon a Time."

BluEyeDevil

The Invasion of Thunderbolt Pagoda:
You don't have to be on hallucinogens to watch this film because it won't make a difference. The reel is soaked in acid and at the very least you'll catch some kind of contact high:
