Young man with the ability to communicate with the dead is suddenly drawn into a deadly conspiracy driven by evil forces.

From the director of The Mummy comes this fun fantasy horror comedy, very similar to Peter Jackson's The Frighteners. Outstanding special effects and *SPOILER* one heck of a sad ending *SPOILER END* which caught me off guard.
Filming began in 2011 but due to legal controversies and running out of money the movie was held back for nearly two years. Odd Thomas had a very limited U.S. theatrical run in February 2014 and will be available on DVD / Blu-ray next week. Worth checking out.

Unlike most films that are recently released, which I have no interest in seeing, I did give some thought to seeing this, if if came to a cinema near where I lived, as I have read several books in the series, at least in graphic format, but, unfortunately, it never played in my area. I do see that it is already out in dvd, which does me little good, as I do not have a dvd player, which is why I always, when I see a new film, see it in the theater.
