I'm not advocating anything, I'm just observing the way history works. But yeah, I don't think it will ever change, so I guess I am fatalistic.

Rose Wilder Lane talks about this in "The Discovery of Freedom". Humans began civilization in insane pagan societies that believed fully in fate and rituals and so forth and people like Moses, Jesus and Mohammed came along and changed things for like 4 seconds then people returned to their fatalism. The United States was like another attempt at destroying those old dark sort of beliefs and unleashing human creativity and so forth to achieve great progress.
