Hey gang.
Notice how YouTube isn't always letting you copy/paste a video on badmovies.org?  It's because the link adds an "s" to the http in the URL.  You have to erase it.  Isn't that stupid?

Hmm, that appears to be new... youtube is now forcing an https connection, and if you go to the http version of the site it redirects you. I don't think they are doing it to try to stop embedding, though. The "s" in https stands for "secure" and it's meant to provide more privacy to the end user. In the future all connections will be via https.

It looks to me like if you hit the "share this video" link it will provide you with a http link.

Interesting.

I don't know that it's YouTube because I'd had the problem before.  REV helped me sort it out this time, and almost certainly, before, maybe a year or so ago.  I think it's Java related, but, as stated many times:  I don't know my a$$ from my elbow.

Thanks for the clarity.  It felt good to blame it on YouTube, what with other crap they've pulled on me in recent times.

I noticed that today. I just deleted the "https://" altogether and it seems to work fine. In other words, just copy the "www.youtube.etc" part.

Nice tip - maybe the easiest solution.

I personally use a different system

Quote<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Where {TEXT} is the bit after ?v= and before any & - but the problem with that is lusers have to put in minimal effort  :teddyr:

For all you less computer literate people, basically, HTTPS IS GOOD! FORCE HTTPS IS GOOD! A step in the right direction.
