Classics:

It Came from Outer Space (the desert atmosphere and eyeball alien)
The Thing from Another World (the ship under the ice and the vegitable alien)
Earth vs The Flying Saucers (great alien outfits, eh)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (pods)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (the big robot and the ship in the park)

Todays:

Alien (great film, alien pops out of crew members stomach)
Alien II (a little more intense)
Starship Troopers (loved the weapons and the bugs)
Red Planet (stranded without food/water/or air, and oxygen producing critters)
Pitch Black (the eclipse and the look early in the film, actually the alien was the worst part of this film)

Brother Ragnarok

Alien (which I imagine will be on everyone's list)
Carpenter's The Thing
Predator
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (Mechagodzilla's theme music alone is worth a vote)
Aliens

Brother R

There are only two important things in life - monsters and hot chicks.
    - Rob Zombie
Rape is just cause for murdering.
    - Strapping Young Lad

FearlessFreep

The Burgomaster

1.  INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (a tie between the original and the Donald Sutherland version)

2.  WAR OF THE WORLDS

3.  THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL

4.  PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE

5.  THE THING (original version)

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Didn't i hear they were going to remake War of the Worlds?
I remember we had that movie on video and I went through a phase when I was 8 where I watched it all the time. Yes ladies and gentlemen..an 8 year old who didn't sit around watching mindless disney cartoons. :)  I think that is still a sound effect that sticks in my head after all these years (when the crafts would shoot their ray)

I never could get into the original Thing movie, although some of the dialogue and the way it's delivered strikes me as humerous at times. I like "Pitch Black" - tho the aliens get low marks for me. I like an alien that is interesting.

I think the "Alien" debate is kind of interesting..there seems to be alot of people who lean towards Aliens over the original. Does anyone like the third?

Suprised nobody mentioned "Dark City"....

oops....I forgot what I was going to type!

they're making a war of the worlds remake?!?! dammit, hollywood keeps taking all the good ideas, first Troy, now this! :(

independence day was fun, despite many people's dislike, although [and no offense meant by this at all] it did have a bit too much 'yay america' at times.

loved dark city, great movie.  and the predator series.

never seen alien 3 unfortunately, but i liked aliens better than alien, though not by much.

i love final fantasy, its one of my favourite movies of all time, and the alien design is really cool.  if somebody makes just a straight up, alien-form-that-is-hard-to-kill-but-can-pretty-much-take-your-soul-really-easy type film, that could be really freaky.

pitch black was strangely entertaining, even though as i watched, i kept thinking that it wasn't that good, yet here i am with a copy on video at home, anyone got it as well? mine has a mini sorta film at the end that is based on the investigation of the post pitch black incident.  its really low budget and really wierd, but not that bad.

I like Alien 3 about as much as Alien and Aliens, though I dislike the fourth a lot.

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!
