Best that I can recall from memory is this scene:

Crew is in a space ship somewhere.. Someone asks where <so and so> is.  Gets told that he is probably in his lab hooked into his VR world.

The guy goes there to find him and sees the skinny guy sitting in a chair with a VR helmet on and a glove that allows him to interact.  The guy walks up and puts an apple (or some similarly shaped fruit) in the gloved hand.  The guy in the helmet pauses his actions and looks at the fruit, rotating it around in his hand as he tries to figure out what it is.  Something nasty must have come up in the helmet because he freaks out and shakes drops the apple really fast, then rips the helmet off his head.

Any help with the title?

Thanks

That actually sounds like a scene from The Lawnmower Man.  The scientist is always hooked up to his VR machine and his wife is always doing things to bring him out of it.  They weren't in a spaceship, though ...
Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

Reminds me of a scene from a low budget alien knock-off called Alien Terminator from about the mid 90's. Although the people were in a lab beneath the surface of the Earth instead of a space ship, but it still had that low budget space ship look to it.   I remember it had a scene similar to the one you describe

See if any of this looks familiar.

At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...
