My favourite Dracula performances would be Bela Lugosi & Christopher Lee. Bela really defined the role and its hard for me to see anyone else playing it as not copying him, and for Lee no matter how bad the movie was he managed to raise it a bit. If I have to pick a third, then I'll go with Gary Oldman who I felt managed to portray him as a monster who still managed to evoke some sympathy.

The worst Dracula I've ever seen though was in Van Helsing with Blade 3 getting a (dis?)honourable mention.

Absolutely DRACULA (1931).  As has been said, Lugosi *IS* The Count.  He defined the character in a way to which ALL others are compared.

Also like all of Christopher Lee's portrayals.  Good stuff.

One I have not seen mentioned here yet is FRIGHT NIGHT (1985).

Really, there are too many good ones.  Even in the totally bad B realm...POLISH VAMPIRE IN BURBANK will always hold a special place...just because.   :teddyr:

I like Leslie Rice's video review style, and he offers a fun one with his Top Ten Vampires list.

Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.
