picked this up just cause I like 70s grindhouse. it was all types of bad, but in a vaguely watchable way.

lonesome guy Howard murders hitch hikers then goes home to his mom, then to his dry cleaning job. rinse and repeat!

Howard is played by the same guy who played the good guy in Trip With The Teacher, which is a way better movie.

Pretty much all the dialogue between Howard and his mother revolves around whether he would like a rootbeer?! This film clearly holds the world record for the most amount of times someone has been asked if they want a rootbeer, or contemplated whether they want one, in a movie.

The deaths are tame as anything. not a drop of blood in the whole film (yet my DVD is on the 'hard gore' label?). There's also the least convincing 'slaps' I've ever seen, where his hand is clearly about 30 cm from the girl's face.

A complete load of rubbish but it has some kind of dorky, clumsy charm so worth a punt if you can handle the really bad stuff

The Burgomaster

But, hey, Russell Johnson is in it!

***SPOILER***

I love when he steps out from behind the rack of clothes to apprehend the killer.  I laughed out loud the first time I saw it.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

yeah looks more like the climax of a Murder She Wrote episode

- just had to check it again actually, my brain had become numbed by that stage first time round
