I always wash my hands before using the restroom.  After all, your member is the cleanest part of your body most of the time - it gets lovingly washed each time you bathe and then tucked into a fresh, clean cotton garment* where it stays hidden until you need to use it. Your hands, on the other hand (LOL) touch all sorts of nasty stuff throughout the day!
