Does anyone have any idea if the upcoming DVD release of DAWN OF THE MUMMY will be in widescreen?  It is available for under $8.00, so I guess I shouldn't care . . . but I do.

It's coming out on dvd? By who? When? I reviewed it on this website a few years back in reader reviews.

It's being released by Madacy (which I know is a cheesy company).  I think the release date is in December.  Deep Discount DVD is selling it for under $8.00, I think,

They're like up there with Alpha video, Brentwood, and other value priced dvd companies. I looked it up on there and it was $7 something so I'm definitely going to order it. Hopefully it's not that awful US print that has night scenes that are so dark and grainy you can't tell what's going on. On a second thought maybe I should wait until I hear more things about the print. I have the European uncut version which is much better.

Alpha is funny.  I bought a couple of movies from them that had surprisingly sharp picture & sound quality (BELA LUGOSI MEETS A BROOKLYN GORILLA and THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE - uncut version!)

On the other hand, I bought KILLERS FROM SPACE, which was very scratchy in many scenes.

I also bought THE KILLER SHREWS and THE WASP WOMAN.  Both are okay quality for the price ($5).

Their dvd of  Godzilla vs Megalon was one of the worst transfers I've ever seen.  It looked like an EP tape that was rubbed in extra dirt and it was cropped horribly.  I never felt so ripped off.  They have improved though and I agree some of their dvds are very acceptable.  They've released quite a few oddities I wouldn't of been able to see otherwise.
